**Ed Hanel lists this as PRO 3 - has anyone ever seen this single with either number? An article in Record Collector magazine lists it as PRO 1.

Assorted Rarities

• I'm the Face - 10" metal acetate - One of a kind. Apparently the name of the band had not even been decided upon when this acetate was made. "THE WHOS" is crossed out and replaced by "THE NUMBERS." Also note the inscription "Andrew Oldham is a bum." Pete Meaden had just ended an association with Andrew Loog Oldham and the Rolling Stones and the handwriting is his. Another point of interest is the inscription "THIS SIDE." The label on the other side is crossed out and the recorded surface is scratched out with a pen indicating that the mix of this side was chosen for the final release.
  
  The acetate was shown on page 34 of Anyway Anyhow Anywhere - The Complete Chronicle of The Who 1958-1978 by Andy Neill and Matt Kent.
  
  It was also discussed in an article in the March 2005 issue of Record Collector.
   
• Anyway Anyhow Anywhere (Picture Sleeve) - Brunswick 05935 - In the 1971 book The Who Gary Herman states "the record was sent out to disc jockeys and reviewers in a bright orange and yellow 'pop art' cover that read 'Pow! Don't walk, run to your nearest record player.'" I would be very interested in hearing from anybody that has seen this sleeve or can direct me to somebody that has seen one.

• Who Did It - Track 2856 001 - The August 1994 issue of Vox states "Available only through a mail-order club in the early 70's, this compilation was little-known and withdrawn early on. For most Who collectors, it's their ultimate desire, but there aren't many copies to be had." Even Pete Townshend is not familiar with it.
  
  John Atkins writes in the September 1998 issue of Record Collector:

  WHO DID IT UK LP: Track 2856 001 (1971) Contains Side 1 of "A Quick One" and Side 1 of "Sell Out" LPs

  Polydor's shortlived mail-order record club briefly allowed punters access to some creative repackaging of the label's catalogue. Like Cream's "On Top" and "Electric Hendrix", "Who Did It" contained nothing rare or unusual apart from the artwork. But whereas the Cream selection seems to have enjoyed reasonably wide circulation, Polydor's scheme ran out of gas around the time that the Who and Hendrix albums were pressed up -- hence their ridiculous rarity.
